Altina's previous experience, schooling, internship, and ability to work with individuals with diverse backgrounds play a role in her assisting others in various areas. However, she is passionate about working with teenagers and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, OCD, postpartum depression, anger management, marriage issues, and PTSD, to name a few. Altina believes in the person-in-environment perspective. This perspective is based on the notion that an individual and their behavior cannot be understood adequately without consideration of the various aspects of that individual's environment (social, political, familial, temporal, spiritual, economic, and physical). A person-in-environment perspective provides a more adequate framework for assessing an individual and their presenting problem and strengths than an approach focusing solely on changing their behavior, psyche, or environmental conditions.

Altina will use a combination of CBT, SFT, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy to assist her clients in reaching their goals. Creating a safe space for her clients, not judged but understood, is essential because vulnerability is a significant key to change.

Hear From Altina

In life, we can do many things, such as buy a big house, an expensive car and fancy clothing. However, when life is over, none of those things matter. What matters is leaving a lasting impression. Suppose I can assist one person to see things from a different, more positive perspective. In that, I've helped not one but many.
